I’m a creative marketing professional with a soft spot for inbound marketing. I love building meaningfull brands and create promissing concepts. I’ve got many years of experience with content marketing, e-mail marketing, SEO, social media marketing and website optimization. But also with project management, business development. finance and operational management.
Studies & experience
I studied a number of things but none of them stuck. The subjects in itself were very interesting but the thought of doing one thing my entire life frightened me. I wanted more: I wanted it all. That’s why I fell in love with marketing: through it, I get to experience all kinds of interesting businesses.
These past years I’ve worked as an independent commercial copywriter, set up a branding and marketing agency and founded an agency which helps start-ups effectively use online marketing. I’ve worked as a senior content specialist for a bigger online marketing agency and consulted many more.
Besides my work as a marketing professional, I also find value in volunteer work. For example, I was a board member (secretary) of a political party where I later also worked as the chairman of the functioning committee and the chairman of the candidate committee. Before that I did some volunteer work as an online editor for an online cultural platform and I worked as a PR and communications officer for a local foundation.
More than ‘just a marketing professional’
But I am more than ‘just a marketing professional’. I’m also a dedicated athlete (at the moment I’m training for the Paris Marathon in April ’20 and either the Chicago or the Amsterdam Marathon in October ’20) and an amateur photographer (all the photos from my website are from my personal collection). But above all I am father to a son named Sam and a husband to a wife named Margreet. With her I also founded the Pennut Foundation.
The Pennut Foundation
The Pennut Foundation enables children from low-income families to take part in activities which are good for their personal and social development, such as sport and after-school activities -activities which otherwise would’ve been out of their reach. But also during other moments in which they could feel left behind, such as Christmas and ‘Sinterklaas’, the Pennut Foundations helps.
At this moment the Pennut Foundation is being set-up and organized: We’ll keep you posted on the progress.
This is what I do
I help other brands get ahead of their game. My portfolio holds international agencies as well as start-ups who wanted to hit the ground running. In short, I work for big companies and companies who dream of become big.
Content connects. It tells people who you are and what’s important to you. Content is a major factor within all my strategies.
Through social media you honour the connection with your fans. It’s the perfect place where you can interact on a social and personal level.
Why e-mail marketing is not used by more companies is a mystery to me. It’s an extremely powerful marketing tool which I encourage you to use.
